I've heard about people having the issue before with games like Battlefield, but not with TF2. If a graphics card tool like RadeonPro set it off due to how it attaches to EXE's to limit framerate/force sweetFX (graphics shaders), then I'll be damned. The only cheating related tool I've ever used in my life with TF2 was SAM. It was just out of the blue, and I have no reasoning as to why it happened. Nobody will believe me, and still to this day I haven't recived an explanation as to why I was banned from TF2, which only leaves me with the idea that it was SAM. I also play Rocket League at a very high ranking (Grand Champion in 1v1 and 2v2 last season) with 1000 hours logged, because it's the only game that can give me the rush/experience similar to playing Soldier in TF2. I literally have over 5400 hours in Dota 2, and 2000 hours logged into TF2 with a decent inventory. Take a look my steam profile and explain to me how I'm not banned from the countless other FPS games I've played. I'll most likely never know what the hell caused it unless if Valve tells me. I don't want to somehow get randomly banned in Dota or CS:GO.
SAM STEAM ACHIEVEMENT MANAGER KILING FLOOR WINDOWS
I blame Valve because they refuse to tell people why they're VAC'd which just leaves me to try and figure out WTF on my computer set off VAC.Īfter it happened last year, I stopped using Windows all together and moved to Linux, permanently. I've never used in-game cheating tools in TF2. Your achievements are public and anyone can see them. If you have done either of the following in the past, I would recommend selling off/transferring all of your valuable items off of your offending Steam account.īetter safe than sorry, all it takes is one salty person to report your profile to get a 4y/o+ retroactive ban for achievement cheating. If you have ever used Steam Achievement Manager or any achievement-unlocking server to unlock achievements without having the prerequisites for them, you can and will be banned by Valve if someone goes out of their way to report your steam profile. I assume what happened is my Steam Profile got reported by some salty dude after a game of Dota 2 last year, (2016), some Steam moderators/Valve employees looked at my profile, saw that I had achievements that I didn't earn in TF2, and then banned me in TF2 accordingly. actually be an asshole).īut when people get really pissed, they go out of the way to report your Steam Profile too. All this does is send you to low priority or mutes you if you receive enough reports (you have to recieve A LOT for this to happen, i.e. In Dota 2, when people get pissed at you for being bad/playing X hero the wrong way/etc, they report you in-game. I started playing TF2 less and less, and then started playing Dota 2. In the past (2012), I used SAM (Steam Achievement Manager) to unlock some achievement items and random MvM achivements en-masse.

Just the other day, the reasoning for my VAC hit me like a pile of bricks. I was left in a fury and clueless for a while. I have never used any sort of in-game cheats that give me an unfair advantage over other players, period, but somehow I got VAC'd anyways. I came here like a year ago when I got VAC'd from TF2 seemingly out of the blue.
